all: add tests for PingRequest implementation

Unit tests for Change (IsEmpty, Merge, Type, PingNode constructor),
ping tracker (register/complete/cancel lifecycle, concurrency, latency),
and end-to-end servertests exercising the full round-trip with real
controlclient.Direct instances.
